How to use each option

Bus (Centrotrans)

  • Exit arrivals and turn left
  • Look for the blue Centrotrans bus outside the terminal
  • Buy a ticket at the kiosk or pay the driver in cash

The bus ends near Baščaršija in the old town. Luggage goes in the under-bus compartment. First bus is about 5:30 in the morning, last at 23:30. If you land after this, use taxi or private transfer.
Timetable and stops

Tip: If your flight is late, drivers usually wait for delayed flights.

Shared Shuttle

  • Book in advance at airporttransfers.ba
  • Meet your driver in arrivals with your name on their list
  • Shared shuttles often make one or two stops for other passengers

Best for travellers with a hotel or address that isn’t close to the bus stop. Good for extra bags. Pre-booking required. Prices start at 10 EUR per seat.

Taxi

  • Walk to the signed taxi rank just outside arrivals
  • Join the queue for licensed taxis with blue roof signs
  • Ignore any fixed fare offers inside the terminal

Meters start at 2 KM. Expect 10 to 12 EUR to the centre. You can pay in KM or EUR, but cash is safest for exact change. Some taxis accept cards; always ask before the ride.

Say “Molim, taxi metar” when you get in.

Private Transfer

  • Book ahead at transfers.ba
  • Your driver will be waiting in arrivals with your name on a sign
  • The price is fixed and paid online

Best for late arrivals, groups, or anyone who wants everything settled in advance. Child seats available on request. Great if you have a lot of luggage or just want peace of mind.

Rent a car or van

If you arrive late at night

After 23:30, only taxis or private transfers are available. Book a transfer in advance for the safest ride. If you use a taxi, always join the official rank and check for the meter. If no taxis are present, ask airport information to call a licensed company.

Money and payment tips

  • Bus is cash only in BAM. Taxi and transfer drivers usually accept BAM or EUR, but have small notes for change.
  • Card payments are available with some taxis and almost all private transfer bookings.
  • ATMs are located inside the terminal before the exit.
  • Luggage: all these options include a standard suitcase and a small carry-on.

Families and accessibility

  • Child seats available on request with pre-booked transfer or shuttle
  • Shared shuttles and private transfers help with bags to your door
  • The bus has luggage space but seats are first-come, first-served
